--- Mars Modular Tranport System ---

***(please read the two IMPORTANT notices below the description for proper use)

DESCRIPTION:
Here's a unique vehicle made for use on other worlds. The modular design allows different vehicles to be assembled from the same reused components.

The MARS CARGO TRANSPORT uses a 4-man personal PODmodule, attached to a multi-storage-bin cargo unit. Solar panels provide electricity to recharge the batteries on these all-electric trucks.

POD MODULE: This sealed-pressure vehicle lets astronauts without having to wear their bulky spacesuits. Dome side windows allow passengers 180-degrees of excellent visibility. A removable hatch on the back aliow people to crawl thru to laboratory modules and such when they are attached to the pod.

CARGO MODULE: This unit carries supplies and such between bases and project sites. The forward spotlight on the POD module, the safety red rotating beacon, and the anilmated navigation radar dish, as well as the individual motors for each wheel, are powered by an oversized battery array in the chassis, for longer-than-average range.

Speaking of wheels, all of the Mars units have special WALKER wheels with 18 spring-loaded legs on each, for extra traction and mobility on loose or rocky soils.

BONUS TRUCK:
A second Mars vehicle is included in the pod file.....

Take 2 personal pods, attach then together with power and control cables, lock their active suspension to improve stability, and activate the balance-control computers, and you have an 8-man transport affectionately referred to by Martian astronauts as the "POD-POD". The units self-balance on 2 wheels using technology pioneered by the SEGWAY SCOOTER industry.

Having 2 separate units flexibly attached to each other provides the maximum in mobility, while saving weight and costs.

NOTE: Due to limited battery capacity and solar cell space, the lights are deactivated on the POD-POD.

------------------game fixes----------------------------------------------------------

#1 IMPORTANT: error fix
Due to a limit with the game software, you must turn-off the DAMAGE effects in the game by pressing X, or else you may get an error when POD-POD crashes.

#2 IMPORTANT: bonus easter eggs
Place the name of the MARSTRANSPORTS.POD file at the top of your POD.INI file in your Monster Truck Madness 2 folder, just below the number at the top and above the STARTUP.POD file. Doing so will remove the unnecessary driveshafts from the transports, and replace the Helicopter and Pterodactyl models with new rescue vehicles and sounds.

POD.INI example:
----------------------------------------

20
MARSTRANSPORTS.POD
STARTUP.POD
music.pod
sound.pod
truck2.pod
cockpit.pod
ui.pod
tpark.pod
alaska.pod
junk.pod
crazy98.pod
snake.pod
main.pod
aztec.pod
outback.pod
rockqry.pod
baja.pod
summit1.pod
summit2.pod
summit3.pod
----------------------------------------

The number at the top is the total number of PODs in the list. it will vary depending on how many tracks & trucks you added to the game. Increase it by one for every new POD you add to the list, and subtract one for every POD you remove.

If you can't find the POD.INI file, then use the SEARCH or FIND feature in the START menu of Windows to locate it. You can easily edit it with NOTEPAD or other text editors.

==> The Mars trucks will work find podded in the regular manner, but their unwanted driveshafts will be seen floating below them, and you won't get the bonus Mars-related rescue vehicles. Your choice.

Enjoy.
